Hello everyone! I’ve decided to start making posts about my travelling and weekend trips since I always take my camera & have so many amazing photos from them! It was my boyfriend’s birthday this late June, and I decided to surprise him & take him horseback riding. I’d actually only been on a horse a couple of times before when I was younger, so I was soo nervous.
Hotel Mas Sant Marc
I booked a hotel in Puigcerdà, in Catalunya (Spain). It was such a breathtaking place, I would definitely go back again. The hotel was Mas Sant Marc, a cosy and beautiful Masia in a rural setting. The hípica (horseriding centre) was right next to the hotel & had different outings you could choose from.
The hotel was so nice, I had booked breakfast and was very happy about it! They brought us a 3 tier platter with croissants, cheese, butter, marmalade, ham (which I wish we could’ve asked them not to bring because we’re both vegetarians). They also made us fresh orange juice & coffees. We didn’t have lunch or dinner in the hotel, but when we came back we played some pool & chess and hung around the reception area.
Horseback Riding
The horse riding centre had different routes; a 1 hour, 2 hour and a 5 hour one. I was glad to have chosen the 1 hour one because it was more than enough! The route was beautiful, we went around the area of the hotel which had flower fields and views of the mountains. I was very nervous before getting on the horse, but once I got on it I felt calm and was ready to have fun. I guess the fact that my horse was very mellow also helped!
Puigcerdà
We had lunch and dinner in Puigcerdà, capital of la Cerdanya in Catalunya, Spain. We went for a walk and took some photos, visited the park which has a lake and saw great views of the mountains from the town.
All in all, we had a great weekend. If you ever come around the area I would definitely recommend the hotel and horse route. And if you have time, they also have bikes you can use!
