Loving yourself is the first step in anything you do. In order to have a successful relationship with others, first, you’ll have to learn how to practice self-love.

These tips can be applied on any day of the year, but we all know Valentine’s day can be hard if you don’t have a partner. That special someone will have to be YOU! 🤍✨

If you do have a partner and want ideas on what to do, read my post 10 Non-Cheesy Valentine’s Day Date Ideas by clicking here

1. Start the morning right with your favourite breakfast

Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I say that’s because it’s the first one you’re going to have and it’ll set your mood! So, start Valentine’s Day off with your fave breakfast! My favourite meal in the morning will always be yummy pancakes 🥞.

Btw, I have an amazing recipe for them here! YUM 🤤

2. Treat yourself

Get a present for yourself! There’s nothing wrong with spending a little money on yourself once in a while, you deserve it! ✨ I have a few ideas on things you can get:

  • Buy yourself a beautiful flower bouquet
  • Buy that item you’ve been thinking about for a while
  • Go get a massage or your nails done

3. Do an activity you love

What’s something you love to do but can’t because you don’t have time? Well, Valentine’s day is the day to do it. If you love reading, pick up a book and enjoy that time with yourself. If you love the fresh air, go out for a lovely walk in the park. Try to really enjoy each moment that you’re doing what you like, without thinking about your to-do list!

4. Try something new

Have you always thought about starting a certain activity or hobby but the moment has never arrived? Well, you reading this post is a sign to start something new.

Give yoga a try for example! For years I had always wanted to try it out but didn’t. So one day I opened up a Youtube video, I prepared my yoga mat and loved it so much.

5. Wear your best outfit

Whatever you’re doing that day, get dressed, do your hair, makeup or whatever you need to do to make yourself feel A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. If you don’t feel like getting too dressed up, you can still wear the cutest comfiest clothes you have!

6. Feel

Allow yourself to feel if you’ve recently gone through a breakup or loss. Realise it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to dislike this day but don’t become bitter and try to enjoy at least some part of it! If you don’t like being alone, spend time or call your family or friends.

Here’s a gratitude exercise you can do for the day: Write down 10 things you’re grateful for.

7. Play music & clean your house

Play your favourite Spotify list & make your home look beautiful (unless you hate cleaning 😂)! Spring is on the way so it’s a great moment to clean out your wardrobe. Out with the old, in with the new!

Here’s a cool playlist you can listen to:

8. Social media detox

Valentine’s day might be the best day to do a social media detox. If you’re single you might not want to see everyone posting their romantic dates on this day. Or maybe you don’t mind, but social media detoxing can still be a great day to take a pause on the endless scrolling. 🌱

9. Pamper sesh

It’s spa time! It’s the moment to get all your best beauty treatments out. Take a lovely shower or bath, apply a hair & face mask, and do your best beauty routine!

10. Date yourself

After your pamper sesh, unwind with a V-day date by yourself! Get your comfiest sweats on, choose a movie, get that wine and popcorn and enjoy every second of your date.
